The Process

Ingredients:

Brussels Sprouts
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Oil – Avocado, Olive or Vegetable
  • Seasoning – Paprika, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Pepper
  • Honey
  • Sriracha
Dipping Sauce
  • Mayonnaise
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Honey
  • Paprika

1. Cut and Steam Brussels Sprouts

Start by cutting the ends of your brussels sprouts, removing any dead leaves and washing if need be. (This has some great guidance if you need help trimming your brussel sprouts!) Next, add them to a glass bowl with a bit of water at the bottom. Microwave for 4 minutes.

2. Smash and Season

Drain the water from the glass bowl and toss your Brussels Sprouts with oil. Now add them to your air fryer (or sheet pan) and smash them! After smashing, sprinkle on the seasonings. Make sure to flip and season both sides, then finish off with a quick, small drizzle of more oil.

3. Air Fry

Since I smashed them in the air fryer basket, I did not preheat the air fryer. Close the drawer and air fry at 400° for 8-10 minutes, flipping half way through.

4. Don’t Forget the Dip!

Mix together the mayonnaise, dijon mustard, honey, and paprika and Enjoy!

FAQ

How do I make sure these air fryer brussels sprouts are super crispy?

Make sure to smash them very thin and drizzle with extra oil before air frying! If they’re giving you too much resistance then throw them in the microwave for another minute. Also, make sure when they’re done you remove them from the air fryer. If you leave them in they may end up steaming which will take away the crunchiness were going for.

What kind of Air Fryer did you use to make this recipe?

I used the Instant Vortex Plus 6-Quart Air Fryer. I love that it has a window so you can see the food while it’s cooking!
